PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 18th Edition Set for Grand Event to Drive Thai Real Estate
The stage is set for the prestigious PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 18th Edition, aimed at propelling the Thai real estate industry forward, enhancing capabilities, and showcasing potential to compete on the international stage. This event is expected to boost business confidence and revive purchasing power in response to positive recovery signals. Nominations for the awards are open from today until June 16, with results announced on September 1, 2023.
The PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards is the longest-running real estate awards ceremony in Thailand, returning for its 18th year to meet the growing demand for real estate post-COVID-19. This event provides an opportunity for companies to participate as prominent developers and projects recognized for their outstanding design and development in Thailand, while also raising the gold standard in the real estate sector.

Jules Kay, General Manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, stated, "We are pleased to announce the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 18th Edition, a quality real estate awards ceremony held annually to honor companies and projects that excel in design and project development. Currently, the Thai real estate sector is moving forward vigorously, with most operators holding a positive outlook on the market and domestic purchasing power remaining strong. International investors are also beginning to regain strength as travel and tourism return to normal. The awards are judged by an independent panel, ensuring credibility and continuity, while also pushing for the establishment of standards in the Thai real estate industry."
According to the latest Thailand Property Market Report by DDproperty, the overall housing demand index in Q4 2022 increased by 47% compared to the pre-COVID-19 period (Q4 2019), while the property price index for residential properties in Bangkok is also expected to rise in 2023.
With China reopening its borders, it is anticipated to further boost the recovery of tourism in Thailand. Additionally, the ongoing development of transportation infrastructure will remain a key factor in stimulating the real estate market.
The report also noted that the housing price index in the metropolitan area and outskirts of Bangkok, particularly along the SRT Red Line, MRT Blue Line, and BTS Green Line, showed the highest growth in Q4 2022.

Wittaya Apirakviriya, General Manager of DDproperty (Developer Side) and Think of Living, mentioned that this year, the residential real estate market in Thailand is expected to benefit from several supporting factors, including the return of Chinese tourists and the continuous expansion of various electric train lines in Bangkok. Currently, there is no excess supply in the market.
Meanwhile, the existing stock of unsold homes will gradually be cleared. However, homebuyers should prepare financially for this year due to rising construction costs, inflation, interest rate hikes, and other factors affecting property prices.
